Doppelrolle / Two-faced (2023)

Die Rauminstallation Doppelrolle entstand aus der Faszination einer Onlinewerbung, welche eine Tapete mit dem Muster „schmutzige Kachelboden Optik” als „super Sparpreis, eleganter retro Look, jetzt neu” anpries. Die durch eine Scherenschnitttechnik entstandene Raumzeichnung, ist ein Resultat des Versuches, auf die dem Material inne wohnende Dualität einzugehen und den schmutzigen Boden aus der Tapete zu schneiden. Unwissend über diese aufgedruckten Inhalte erblicken die Betrachterinnen die Fugenzeichnung einer Rückseite, welche die verschiedenen Ebenen des Materials freilegt.

The room installation Doppelrolle (Two-faced) was created from the fascination of an online advertisement that promoted a wallpaper with the pattern "dirty tiled floor look" as "super savings price, elegant retro look, now new". The spatial drawing created using a cut-out technique is the result of an attempt to respond to the duality inherent in the material and to extract the dirty floor from the tapestry. Unaware of this imprinted content, the viewer sees the grout drawing of a reverse side that exposes the different layers of the material.
